The Bridging Multiple Worlds Alliance (BMWA)

The Bridging Multiple Worlds Alliance (BMWA) supports low-income, immigrant, and ethnic minority youth in building pathways to college and careers without giving up ties to their families and cultural communities. We are a growing network of researchers, educators, and policy makers - spanning from local to international - who work to open educational opportunities from preschool through graduate and professional school. We are working to link these stages to create a more seamless pathway through the entire educational process (P-20).

The BMWA is currently funded by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.

BMWA offers four services:

(1) Aligning models and measures for research, practice, and policy
(2) Creating and providing research tools for P-20 alliances
(3) Collaborating on P-20 longitudinal data systems and case studies
(4) Providing techincal assistance with engaging culturally diverse families as full partners
